Ready to trade sidelines for scrums? Welcome to the wild, wonderful world of rugby—a sport where teamwork, grit, and a good sense of humor are the name of the game! Whether you’re here to tackle, sprint, or just figure out what the heck a "ruck" is, we’re thrilled to have you.

No experience? No problem! Rugby is all about learning, growing, and occasionally laughing at yourself (we’ve all been there). You’ll pick up the rules, make new friends, and maybe even discover a love for muddy fields and post-game celebrations. So lace up, dive in, and get ready to unleash your inner rugby star—you’re going to crush it!


New to rugby? We’ve got everything you need to dive in, get dirty, and love every minute of it. Let’s break it down for you!

Practice

Twice a week—Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Learn the skills, drills, and strategies to grow into a confident player. No experience? No problem—we’ll teach you!

$30 per season

Voting Power – Have a say in team decisions.

Leadership Opportunities – Eligible to be Captain, hold office, and serve on committees.

Game Day Priority – Can play if space is available. Provide support for the team.

Fundraising Requirement – Participation is expected.

Social Events – Invited to all team gatherings and activities.

Note: Rugby runs on two seasons per year: Spring and Fall! Dues are due before the first game of each season, but don’t sweat it if you’re unable to pay right away. Just chat with a Board Member and we’ll gladly work something out with you!

CIPP

Every player MUST register with USA Rugby for insurance and eligibility. Learn more about CIPP HERE.

CIPP is required if participating in contact during practices.

Gear

Before you hit the field, here's what you'll need to get started. Rugby requires a mix of comfort, protection, and style (yes, you can look good while tackling!). Here's a quick guide to make sure you're geared up for success:

Practice Gear

  • Cleats: Soccer or rugby cleats.

  • Mouthguard: Essential for protecting your teeth (mandatory for contact).

  • Bottoms: Comfortable athletic shorts or pants.

  • Water Bottle: Hydration is key—always bring your own water bottle!

Game Day

  • Jersey: Official team jersey (provided).

  • Shorts: Rugby-specific shorts (no zippers for safety).

  • Cleats: Rugby or soccer cleats.

  • Mouthguard: Non-negotiable for games.

  • Optional Protective Gear:

    • Padded Headgear: For extra head protection.

    • Shoulder Pads/Compression Shirt: For extra protection (game day approved).

    • Rugby Skins: Base layers worn under regular kit.

Prohibited Gear:

  • No jewelry or all jewelry must be taped.

  • No metal braces or gear of any kind.
